[Image taken 6.5.23] Northern Rail train, York rail station, York. NOTE: No street view at this location] Despite the cycle symbol this is a carriage with shared space. The other side of the carriage is for wheelchairs. In fact, I sat on one of the four seat (in facing sets of two) and someone put their unfolded buggy between me and the facing set then moved further into the train to join someone else. The seats in this carriage tip up. This makes the space more flexible. Note the bar/rack in: #193816 has been removed. Other image here today and links: #193815.
