[Image taken 21.05.23] Malton Road / New Lane, Huntington / York. [NOTE: No street view at this exact location] Context: #193945. As I was looking for the signage to see where/until which point/from which point people can cycle on this narrow path (see: #194151) a cyclist appeared. He was not wanting New Lane but to continue up Malton Road. He’d got confused by these signs: #194144. Many people who cycle do not know the names of the roads they regularly use. I only know New Lane from locating images on cyclestreets.net. Plus the other sign only refers to pedstrians… The point at which the person needed to turn around was narrow – the path further restricted by the temporary barriers. He had a light cycle with no luggage yet the limited width of the available space meant he didn’t find it easy. Imagine if you had a heavier, longer, wider rig and/or passengers and/or mobility issues. Other image here today and links: #194141.
