[UPDATE: 4.7.23 Fence repaired: #195702.] [Image taken 6.6.23] Denning's Yard Access (between Crichton Avenue and the Foss Islands Path), York. A couple of days ago I noticed the fence was broken. Has it been hit by a motor vehicle? I saw a massive one parked up in here recently. Perhaps ahead of the development of the land at the end. (I did wonder how the juggernaut would turn round.) This damage, having seen a huge lorry, together with the knowledge houses are to be built here, underlines my concerns for the safety of the people who walk, wheelchair, scoot, cycle over the mouth to the site. There are double yellows on this side including next to that parked vehicle. (See also: #194990.) Note the dense greenery above the low blue railing to the left of the shared use path. This means there are no sight lines of people using the path or of what or who is below, at the centre of the spiral. The CYC walking and cycling officer raised this with Sustrans, "This could all be cut back." at a meeting in March 2023 (see: #187856). But it wasn't. Just a few hours before I took this image I was cycling up the spiral (towards the bollards) and came across the aftermath of a two-cycle collision... I will report the fencing and the foliage.
