This pinch point is always interesting. I often pull out quite early to show myself to oncoming cars. I'm often doing 25mph+ here (in a 30mph limit) so should really, really been seen as a car! The car in this case did see me, although I did notice they only slowed when I pulled out.

After the pinch point comes the close pass by a car from behind.
