The side of the road here is particularly bad but I usually find a reasonable line in hte positive position about 1metre out form the kerb. This doesn't stop some drivers being well short of expected responsible behaviour.
First, "The Bad" (AK60 DGU) who comes close enough to knock me sideways slightly.
Second, "The Ugly" and the really poor driving (SG03 GSB or GSE), comes a lot closer and just about clips me. I'm shocked and furious. My only reaction is to ride in the middle of the lane stopping any car passing too close. I pull back to the postive position when there are no oncoming vehicles.
Third, "The Good" who even if not held by me clearly understood the poor driving from the previous two cars and gave me plenty of space.
So 2 cars breaking "Highway code rule 163".
