This permissive bridleway is fantastic! Clearly added in the past couple of years (Google Streetview didn't have it as at June 2012) by a local landowner, possibly the nearby farm (UPDATE below). If so, thanks! It means that the whole 5 mile trail is off-road. This little 250 yard section may not be very much, but it is fairly horrible. Drivers go very fast along here and it's quite narrow. This is not unusual www.youtube.com/watch and I'm always very wary on this road.
The bridge is across Bourn Brook and has a footpath along it just afterwards. The bridleway goes onto Hardwick. For how that goes look at radwagon.co.uk/2012/06/wimpole-folly-and-three-cams.html for a high speed guide.
UPDATE: I've been told that this path was added after a pony was killed by someone driving along the road here. Luckily the rider was only shaken, but it does show how dangerous this dead straight road is. A very sad event.
