UPDATE Dec 2019 Finally twitter.com/juststepsways/status/1204063920639664128 more than 10 years on cycle parking outside the coop (however would have been nice to have a planter cycle parking aka plantlock like thse outside brookes cycles in Eccles twitter.com/CatrionaSwanson/status/1215745830386311175 www.frontyardcompany.co.uk/products/plantlock-at-work for Gorgeous @gorse_hill or at least a tapping plate and cycle sign as at Irlam #60693/ ) 2 cycle stands for up to 4 bikes. Coop could do lot more and a review of all stores and funeral directors etc in the GM and NW area; similarly who @coopuk sponsor #ItsWhatWeDo www.cyclestreets.net/photomap/tags/coopgm/ and www.cyclestreets.net/photomap/tags/coop/ twitter.com/juststepsways/status/1204063920639664128 . In 2008 the Coop showed disregard to cyclists providing so called cycle parking out of sight from the main entrance in the form of wheel grabbers. These were so unpopular that the area was used for storage by the Coop. May be co-op can fit these ? www.cyclestreets.net/location/44786/
In 2009 the refurbished GREEN look the Coop has not even attempted to provide any cycle parking. The refurbishment of the store could have been a great opportunity to provide decent facilities at the front of the store. The bollards could even have doubled as parking (if not ideal support for the cycle).
Q Are the Coop in breach of the original planning application by removing the cycle parking ?
Q Are you a member of the Coop? Have you challenged the parking that is provided for cycles ? I have but more are needed to report these problems
SUGGESTION Why not provide planters for cycle parking here ? Like near St Ann's church MCR. #102025
