UPDATE This location is posted at www.urbancycleparking.org.uk/location/46806/ (There are many others posted here as well for Trafford) New Nisa store in Ashton on Mersey Trafford nr Manchester . How long will it take for the developers to install cycle parking to the correct standard? The location is good but it is a shame that the cycle parking is useless. With a little effort the publications available are numerous including Greater Manchester Police publication Design for Security: Cycle Parking Design Guidance Rev A Oct 2009 www.designforsecurity.org/downloads/ . The so called cycle parking is 4 wheel grabbers probably more useful as dog leash fastening but even they don't bother using. Bizarrely the arrangement encourages cyclists to avoid placing next to grabbers and encroach on the pedestrian space using the wheel grabbers for the lock only. Compare this with the cycle parking nearby on Plymouth Road parade of shops #46808 Curiously the pedestrian customer is confined to a narrow strip near the window not on any particular desire line and in this case guarded by a dog. The site used to be a pub called the Lively Lobster notorious for knocked off goods so ripe for decent parking one would have thought.
