Caught this sign out of the corner of my eye as I came from the other direction. There is no similar sign at the other end and a number of paths are cycleable locally.

A lot of this area is plagued by lack of info about where offroad cycling is permitted. Indeed Google Maps (connected to a Sustrans project) says that this IS cycleable, along with a lot of routes in this residential area.
