This on-road cycle lane forms part of a cycle path that links Derby and Long Eaton. It is too narrow for a 40 mph limit road, being only around 1M wide. Cyclists should ride 1M out from the curb & cars should overtake leaving at least 1.5M, especially on a road of this speed limit - the path should be a minimum of 2.5M wide both ways to account for this (or even better, have it off-road). Plenty of space is available for cars - why so little for bikes?
