Shared-use footway, with pointless 10m cycle detour where verge width has allowed. Ladymead is what might be reasonably described as "hostile" when cycling on the carriageway, and it was a notable gap in the cycle network, which is why there was strong desire to do something along there. However, this little bit of extra width is really silly. (I'm used to the DfT recommended widths being ignored by SCC.)
