Sensor loops at the gates on Southampton Common. You have to stand your bike on them to activate the traffic lights. However they don't recognise carbon bikes, or a lot of aluminium for that matter. The ground is also very damaged and bumpy meaning accelerating away on green is quite uncomfortable. (Thanks to the two passing cyclists who let me photo their bikes for scale, I have no idea who they were)
