This narrow and cluttered footway has not really been "converted" to shared-use, merely signed as shared-use. Cyclists are to cross over at this point to the footway on the other side of the road which is marginally less unsuitable for cycling. Since the road is one-way, only cyclists going the other way can use the carriageway.
