The stepped cycle lane on George V Bridge is somewhat difficult to get onto from Commerce Street due to all the clutter on the footway, and potentially people waiting at the crossing.

But as we can see from #82971, it is only useful for left turns at the far end of the bridge, so is useless for anyone coming from Clyde Place who would use the Tradeston Bridge instead.

So what is the purpose of this piece of infrastructure?

Also, no warning that the lane is blocked by cones, so is not yet open for business.
