I've twice had a near accident on my bike when going straight on, southbound, from Rectory Road to Shacklewell Lane, across Amhurst Road. Cycles are not well incorporated into the flow of traffic and many cars turn left here (onto Amhurst Road SE-bound) without signalling. While cycling in the centre of the lane (to show I was going straight on), I've twice been overtaken before the car in question turns left, narrowly avoiding me (and causing me to need to stop to pull myself together). I'm a confident cyclist who obeys traffic rules, and even I have had my confidence knocked by these experiences. Could road signage change? There is no ASL at this junction north/south, which would also improve the situation for cyclists.

I hope this makes sense, sorry about the lengthy description. I have no idea how many of this sort of comment you get, but if it's appropriate to contact me at hiljackson@gmail.com, feel free.
