Authorities sieze pushed handcarts following a bizarre ruling:

This barrier has appeared on the @Sustrans NCN12 route between Graveley and Letchworth. Hard for any cyclist to deal with, it will exclude all those using non-standard or adapted cycles. It should be removed. @WeAreCyclingUK @hertscycling … [more]

Nobody Inn on Grantham's horrible heavy traffic gyratory, three lanes of one-way!

Very poor, unimproved roadside footway re-badged as a shared use path. Dreadful concrete surface, too narrow, vegetation encroaching. The cyclist in the picture has wisely chosen not to use it but this is a nasty stretch of road with HGVs … [more]

@simon_nuttall @RantyHighwayman @cyclestreets Huntingdon Rd, Huntingdon, near Tesco’s . Here is another death trap for school children, in Godmanchester. 🙁 Note: similar photo from nine years previously: #45746. … [more]

Bicycles face the rack at Woodlands Surgery. Better racks are nearby at #172430.

Including the provision of cycle infrastructure as a condition of planning for private developments is a pointless exercise. This junk is in #Adare Co. #Limerick. I should win an award for staying upright while cycling with one hand on the … [more]

Freshly installed (March 2021) dropped kerb linking the new shared path towards the Sharphill Development unfortunately gaining a very obstructive barrier :(

This is what my local council calls a cycling path! Might be better to rename it an obstacle course!

Today's nomination for worst bit of cycling infrastructure goes to @BuryCouncil for this little gem..

Horrendous series of doubly punitive chicanes on a cycle route, Headingley, Leeds.

Parked cars, Istanbul - presumably someone somewhere has the keys.

Blockage preventing use of through route by those with protected characteristics or non-standard cycles. Distance between barriers is circa 1m.

A failure on so many levels.

Looks like Wigan council didn't get the memo about greater manchester investing in cycle infrastructure. I genuinely didn't know these were cycle lanes until now. My shoulders are wider. Here's a tip, if you can't fit the bike picture in … [more]

Horrible racks - difficult to get the bikes in and provide no secure anchor point. Awful.

The Humber Road cycling improvements are coming along in Beeston. What do people think? @broxtowebc @D2N2GrowthHub @Anna_Soubry "Beware of opening car doors" (and signs on the cycleway).

Cambridge CyclePoint - a.k.a "Cycle what's the point"

Sackville St Manchester UPDATE The University have replied "Although this area is marked following the completion of GEIC building, it is ambiguous for cyclists at the moment we admit. We are currently working on changes to the paths … [more]

@simon_nuttall @cyclestreets Here's a good one for you: Mona Road, Menai Bridge, Anglesey Another angle on it:

The stepped footbridge across the Clydeside Expressway is no longer part of NCN7, but still hinders local journeys between Yorkhill and Bell's Bridge. The signpost is also unnecessarily obstructive for anyone going along the path.

Hideous steps and stepped ramps. Masterpieces of inaccessibility :-/ To really rub it in that no cycling sign is lit - but not the rest of the bridge!

Utterly pointless, short, narrow, green, advisory cycle lane

Had to stop today & photograph my favorite cycle lane on the way into Brighton

The entry to the Tombland cycleway if heading south on Palace Street. Should you want to turn right in to Wensum Street...?

Footbridge horror at Penmaenmawr. A masterpiece of inaccessibility.

This is supposed to be a cycle lane, not an obstacle course @MikeKaneMP , lunatics and asylum springs to mind !

@@BhamCityCouncil like to keep us on out feet/pedals..... @Rahario @geckobike

Narrow Two-way Cycle path on pavement next to busy North Circular Road with signposts planted in the middle of the cycle path

Temporary (but for how long?) access to the Shelford path at Addenbrookes. To the other side of the small line of cones is a live road. Utterly, abjectly, awful. This is bad for cyclists. Terrible for those with long bikes or trailers. … [more]

Shared-use route on very narrow footway - absurd token provision for NCN route 4, cyclists are much better off staying on the road here.

The segregated cycle track becomes shared-use at bus stops by the remodelled North Circular - wouldn't it have been better to have put the cycle track further away from the road, ie behind the bus stops?

Change from shared-use path around road junction to segregated cycle track along the remodelled North Circular Road - right behind a lamp-post.

Barriers at road crossing on Kelvin Cycleway UPDATE 2015: These barriers have now been replaced, by different barriers - see #64259.

Bilingual obstacle course Location: Sallynogin, Dublin (Dublin, Ireland)

This is the 'cycleway' parallel to the A3, squeezing past this bridge ramp next to some sharp edged barrier supports. This is yet another bridge which is virtually impossible to take wheeled items over - not just bikes, but wheelchairs, … [more]
