I'm thrilled to see that a dropped kerb has appeared here, making this shared-use path useable at last.

This is the first opportunity after the roundabout in the distance for cyclists to get on to the shared-use path.

I have no idea what the purpose of these shelters is, not even motorbikes use them, and I'm surprised they're still there.

Gate blocking footpath in Comberton

Footpath in Comberton, recently cleared and seemingly ideal for cycling - except for the gate closing its southern end.

See clip at http://youtu.be/nOOCXIycdaA Rather than having a little patience, the driver of this minibus full of schoolkids decides to pull out at a blind bend, then has to rush back in (close to me) as traffic comes from the other … [more]

Dropped kerbs (rather than barriers) would make these far more useful as cycle routes.

Cut-throughs in Comberton - these could easily be improved for cycling.

Cut-through in Comberton - a dropped kerb would open this up as a cycle route towards the Village College.

Not very cycleable route to Comberton Village College

A long way round (theoretically) on the shared-use path to Comberton Village College - cycle to the east end of the site, cross the road then return to the west.

Covered parking at Comberton Library (on the Village College site) - on a Saturday morning

See clip at http://youtu.be/KV_E__c-Eg4 Another reason to avoid shared paths. The driver clearly can't see anything coming along the path. Hate to think what would happened if I'd been 20 yards further on than I was.

See clip at http://youtu.be/vXk95IRhjos Coming into Comberton there's a pony and trap going the other way. Friendly smiles and waves all round! Civilised transport compared to those rushing (but not fast) polluting transport options.

See clip at http://youtu.be/P5qssLv91Oo This car joins from the road at the left of the roundabout. As I'm making my way between the two pinch points I hear them accelerating very hard despite there being no space to pass (see … [more]

See clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry-Tx1XFp5k This wasn't a close pass, it was all legal and safe, just completely boneheaded. As the clip starts parked cars and oncoming traffic are visible. So why pass only to stop? Whilst … [more]
