The view from Gleniffer Braes Country Park. The path through here is of variable quality, ranging from old asphalt to unmade worn path across the ground, and one section at the bridge over the Gleniffer Burn was too rocky to cycle. There is … [more]
Cathkin Braes Country Park has mountain biking trails and ordinary paths. Here is the path between the car park and Castlemilk.
Overgrown bushes along the path towards Pollok House from the southern side of the Pollok Estate. This was in the process of being cut back a little distance further on.
The Dumbreck Road/St Andrew's Drive/Titwood Road/Haggs Road junction outside Pollok Country Park. No sign of the proposed pop-up cycle route on St Andrew's Drive yet.
The bridge appears to be in the process of being rebuilt. UPDATE Oct 2021: A new bridge is now in place.
The track from the playing fields car park (see #170045) arrives at Guidmans Road just short of the path northwards on the other side of the road. However, the road is one-way.
From the playing fields car park, this track links to Guidmans Road and almost connects to the path network beyond.
The path from the allotments (see #170043) reaches the playing fields car park via this gate. The kerb could be lowered to make it more accessible.
While it is possible to cycle through from the allotments to the playing fields at Pollok Country Park, the path through the woods is unsurfaced and muddy in places, so won't become one of my regular routes through the park.
A barrier with an asphalted path through the gap leaving the road into Pollok Park. This route leads to some quieter options for routes through the park. The notice is about reporting crimes against wildlife.
The path through the woods at Cathkin is usable on this section, but some parts are too steep, including crossfall, to cycle all the way. The path ends before the connection to Burnside Road, so it is necessary to rejoin the busy Cathkin … [more]
I had intended to head west through to the Cathkin Braes mountain biking site, but the path was too muddy to cycle, so I headed in the opposite direction instead.
The Cathkin Braes cycle path ends at the entrance to the country park, but could extend further to connect with the junction of the road to Rogerton.
The trackbed of an old railway, alongside the A752 at Drumpellier Country Park. This could potentially be made into a path for the Seven Lochs Trail instead of using the footway of the A752. At this point, the trackbed crosses a bridge over … [more]
An old railway track alongside the A752 at Drumpellier Country Park, which would make a better route for the Seven Lochs Trail than the footway of the A752. It just needs a path to be built on the trackbed and across to a road crossing. … [more]
The Seven Lochs Trail turns from the A752 into Drumpellier Country Park. The signs here make no mention of the Seven Lochs Trail. There is a dropped kerb here, but it is partly blocked by a mangled railing installed across it.
No signage for Cumbernauld's cycle route 2a to Abronhill near the Palacerigg Country Park visitors' centre.
A signpost within Palacerigg Country Park, but no mention of Cumbernauld's cycle route 2a to Abronhill which starts around here.
The entrance to Palacerigg Country Park, where Cumbernauld's cycle route 1 starts. There are no signs for the Cumbernauld cycle network within the park, although there is a map (see #102067).
A map of the Cumbernauld Cycle Network at the Palacerigg Country Park, right outside the visitors' centre.
The farm at Patterton was provided with a bridge over the M77 motorway when it was built, but now the farm has been abandoned, the bridge is blocked by a gate at the far side, preventing access to the Dams to Darnley Country Park.
According to Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, the Patterton Park & Ride site was not just for Patterton rail station but was to become "one of the major access points in the [Dams to Darnley] country park". But now the farm has been … [more]
A poor connection between the path around Strathclyde Loch and the exit from Strathclyde Park towards Bothwell.
The cycleway in Strathclyde Country Park, but this gets extremely busy with pedestrians on sunny days.
Four wheel-twister stands outside the Palacerigg Country Park visitors' centre, the only cycle parking at this location.
Not a one-way road. No Entry signs are endorsed "Residents Only". Much of this section of route is signed only with stickers, which are not so easy to see on the on-road sections.
While a rack of 5 stands is better than the parking rail that was there before (see #30517), it's only so much use when more than 10 people on bikes turn up at the same time!
The main cycle parking in Calderglen Country Park, which could be nearer to the café and other facilities.
NCN7 and NCN75 cross the main road, Dumbreck Road, on a split stage Toucan crossing to enter Pollok Country Park to the right. The right-hand footway of Dumbreck Road is shared-use from here along Haggs Road and Pollokshaws Road to Nether … [more]
Gateway on the West Highland Way in Mugdock Country Park. The gap in the middle is so narrow, everyone has to go around the side!
Signage to Eastham Country Park. The route straight on is the rougher, more steeply graded riverside path.
The barrier dividing the car park from the path in Eastham Country Park has a small gap near the end to allow people through
Is it really necessary to have so many signs repeating the warning about the tramway crossing? If safety has been an issue then put in some flashing lights like other tramways have at crossings.
The cycle route doesn't even go over the tram tracks and yet there's still a Cyclists Dismount sign!
One of the two sets of stands have been taken out of the cycle parking shelter in the woodlands across the road (see #38919) and relocated to outside the entrance to the visitors' centre and café.
