The Fastlink busway over the Clyde Arc bridge has been shut for COP26, with the other carriageway in effect becoming a busway (with cycling allowed), as seen in #175363.
The one remaining cycle off-slip at the Finnieston Street/Clyde Arc junction. The one at #173654 has been blocked off with a railing.
I find it strange that, of all the bus stops around the city of Glasgow, the two sites chosen for the green-roof bus shelters are both at locations that are no longer served by bus services due to the adjacent Fastlink busway. See also … [more]
The council has fenced off the former cycle off-slip from the Clyde Arc bridge at the NCN75 toucan crossing. This helped those making right turns by allowing cyclists to leave the carriageway and make the turn with the assistance of the … [more]
If a gap wasn't possible opposite James Watt Street (see #173269), a cycle slip lane onto the central reservation island would be useful to enable a right turn onto the toucan crossing across the opposite carriageway to be made, and then … [more]
The lack of a connection from James Watt Street to the riverside NCN75 path and the Tradeston Bridge (visible background left) continues to make this a difficult place to cycle. A gap through the kerb and railing on the far side of the … [more]
The sign permitting cycling in the Fastlink busway has gone, and there is a sign directing cyclists to the shared path along the riverside. However, the crudely altered "Bus and cycle only" road markings remain.
A split toucan crossing across the Fastlink busway and the main Broomielaw carriageway, connecting the riverside path and Brown Street.
The path has clearly been built to align with Bell's Bridge, but this alignment is nothing without a proper crossing. Instead, there's a staggered toucan crossing off to the right, as indicated by the sign. See also #93791 taken from the … [more]
That moment when you stop to take a photo and there's a cyclist approaching on the narrow shared footway and a bus approaching on the adjacent busway, before there's time to get the camera ready. All I could do was to move into the side.
A total lack of cycle facilities on Govan Road at the Pacific Drive junction. On the right is an approach lane for the Fastlink busway on Pacific Drive.
The Langlands Road cycleway joins the carriageway of Langlands Road. On the right is the start of the Fastlink bus lane to Govan Bus Station.
Unlike the temporary arrangements westbound, there is nothing to say cycling is allowed on the Fastlink busway eastbound.
The end of the Fastlink busway on Anderston Quay, and in the distance, the recommencement of the popup cycle lane. The traffic signals detected my approach, and are quick to change.
Caught out by the road markings, or a change of mind when the traffic signals changed? The sign reads "Cyclists use Fastlink Carriageway", and a tiny "& cycle symbol" added amidst the "Bus Only" wording.
I guess the road markings are to remind bus drivers turning onto the Fastlink busway to look out for cyclists, but they appear to suggest to cyclists to go straight on, when the yellow sign says to use the busway.
The road layout at the Govan Road/Golspie St junction due to the Fastlink busway. Not particularly cycle friendly.
The Govan Road toucan crossing leads straight into a wonky lamppost on Pacific Drive. The footways straights ahead and to the right are both shared use.
This traffic island needs a gap to allow signalled cycle access between the Tradeston Bridge and York Street. It could also be used for right turns from Broomielaw (for those coming from Blythswood St and James Watt St) towards the … [more]
The shared use sign (see #65297) for the Broomielaw footway has been removed and signs now direct cyclists to the Clyde Walkway. But old habits die hard.
Could the route alignment be any worse? How about a cycle crossing straight across to the new path (see #93791) at the Village development rather than the split toucan?
I guess the best way onto the Pacific Drive shared use footway is via the toucan crossing on the left. They don't appear to think anyone would approach from this direction.
A variable width newly nominated shared-use footway alongside the Fastlink busway. Also in the picture, cycle parking for the Village development.
The roundabout now includes a shortcut for Fastlink buses only. No cycling through this! Also, the traffic signals for the bus gate have been replaced by a Give Way.
A bus shelter obstructing the newly designated shared-use southern footway of Pacific Drive. The adjacent busway is for Fastlink buses only. Not even the approach taken in #97746 has been adopted here. No buffer strip either. So many … [more]
The southern footway of Pacific Drive has now been declared as shared use. For no obvious reason, it does not have the marked "buffer zone" that Govan Road (see #97688), rebuilt at the same time, has. Note also the bus stops on the main … [more]
The Fastlink busway was built without any dropped kerbs outside the Festival Park gate, hindering cycle access between the Science Centre and Festival Park. The footway here is to be converted to shared use.
Not a dual carriageway, but two parallel two-way roads, the nearest of which is reserved for buses only. The footway on this side is to be converted (or just redesignated?) for shared use.
(via email) Why are we supposed to cycle on the busy Broomielaw or pedestrian area when there's this empty bus lane? #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/jAO3gMJ3RH
A split toucan crossing across the western hospital entrance on Govan Road, but no obvious signs allowing cycling on the footway, and the eastern entrance a short distance away has ordinary pedestrian-only signals.
As part of the Fastlink bus priority scheme, buses were meant to turn right onto Govan Road from the now abandoned segregated bus lane on the left.
As part of the bus priority, buses are allowed to turn right (into the bus station) from the left-hand lane, but the traffic signals all along the Fastlink route do not seem to change with the approach of buses.
A narrow blind corner on the Broomielaw shared-use footway, with some upstand for anyone approaching from a position where they can see at least some way around the corner.
NCN 7 & 75 turn right here, but the council banned the turn on the road, so it must be made via the footway and the 3-stage toucan crossing in #87102.
Tricky 3-stage toucan crossing across Pacific Drive on NCN 7 & 75. Hopeless design! But if you are following the National Cycle Network routes, you must use it due to the banned turn in #87103.
A photo to confirm signs in #66048 have been corrected. The Fastlink busway across the Clyde Arc bridge is the only piece of Fastlink protected busway where cycling is permitted.
Cycling on the forbidden Fastlink Busway, next to Broomielaw. Not many cycle paths in Glasgow are this easy to cycle on. The Clyde Walkway NCN75 (to the left) has lots of obstacles on it, as well as being popular with pedestrians. See also … [more]
No crossing to get to the riverside or NCN75 from James Watt St, and way blocked by a continuous railing. See also #173269. At the same time, Glasgow City Council is progressing with plans to implement a contraflow cycle facility in … [more]
A 3-stage toucan crossing across the Fastlink busway and Broomielaw to get to York St, with added caging.
The sign gives directions for left and right, but some people may actually want to go straight on, but the way is blocked by a planted area and the Fastlink busway. Behind the planted area is a 3-stage toucan crossing across Broomielaw (see … [more]
Infra stops functioning when 4+ cyclists (never mind pedestrians) use it at once. Built to fail. https://t.co/SKX6GH02q2 [See also #80717]
While the cycle parking provision at the new Village development is welcome, I think we can all see what is going to happen due to the lack of a path directly into the site from the toucan crossing. [Paving has since been provided.]
More @GlasgowCC #fastlink madness: the legal place to cycle is OUTSIDE the solid white line!!! http://t.co/rPKXSBfxBp
@magnatom @Byron_Silver The plans show that at STV the lane is bus & cycle but signage allows bus only. http://t.co/9tu6Y6ms2Y [Since corrected, see #87101]

The Fastlink busway alongside Pacific Drive, with the multi-stage staggered toucan crossing that forms part of NCN7&75.
In the foreground the bus/taxi/cycle only lane for the left turn into Govan Road towards Lorne Street. In the background the bus only Fastlink busway alongside Pacific Drive.
After objections, the Fastlink busway carriageway over the Clyde Arc bridge will now permit cycling. But the plastic barriers at each end will only be removed once the buses are due to start running.
After objections, the Fastlink busway over the Clyde Arc bridge (but not the other sections) will permit buses and cycles. The signage has not been altered to reflect this.

@Byron_Silver dont forget convenient and responsive cycle crossings for the shared-use paths #glasgowcycleinfraday http://t.co/9vBrzjcCVV
An excellent, if expensive, segregated road at Pacific Quay. Oh wait it's for buses... #glasgowcycleinfraday http://t.co/j6lUeY9Prw
A new path has been laid between Bells' Bridge and Pacific Drive. A toucan crossing has been provided across Pacific Drive and the adjacent Fastlink busway. They don't meet up and force users to make a zigzag or cut across the grass.
The Fastlink dedicated bus road will not permit cycling when it finally opens, so cyclists will be forced to mix with pedestrians on the NCN 75 riverside path or with motor vehicles on the adjacent road. NCN 756 crosses here on a 3-stage … [more]
The Fastlink segregated bus road, for local buses only. No cycling allowed. NCN75 runs behind the wall on the right, along a shared-use path on the riverside, which becomes an obstacle course further along.
