Bodged repair, almost blocking the drain.

The condition of Hills Road just gets worse and worse at the Station Road junction.

At least one sign now accepts that a modal filter on Panton St isn't a closure to all vehicles.

This sign does not appear to be associated with any works and no similar signs are encountered when approaching from the opposite direction.

Some urgently needed repairs on this major route for key workers to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

There's no traffic during the Covid-19 lockdown, but still, the police should not be leaving cars in the cycle lane.

For some reason the cycle route sign has been moved to a separate pole behind the one it was on (see #31604) and can't be seen clearly now.

Showing around visitors from the Dutch Cycling Embassy.

Contraflow cycle lane to Cambridge Biomedical Campus - on the 'wrong' side of the normal lane with the traffic flow.

Collapsing trench and pothole on Hills Road, Cambridge

Belatedly, there's a sign to make clear the new arrangement for cycling towards Addenbrooke's.

Hills Road is falling apart (and what lane does that taxi driver think he's in anyway?)

Hills Road is falling apart,

Hills Road is falling apart.

I'd heard the new surface on Hills Road was falling apart, but didn't think it would be so bad.

Newly constructed Cross City Cycling scheme but the '2.2 metre wide' refuge is considerably narrowed by the poor placement of poles. And seems to be a trash collection point as well (probably due to the wind).

Lanes approaching the Hills / Long / Queen Edith junction.

The long missing bit of the Hills Road northbound cycleway has finally been filled.

Some people enjoying the new Hills Road cycleway.

Now completed, I think, the cycle track and floating bus stops northbound along Hills Road. Work on the southbound track begins in January 2016.

Floating bus stop in the new segregated cycle track on Hills Road, Cambridge

Start of new segregated cycle track on Hills Road, Cambridge - one side only, so presumably southbound cyclists will be on the footway to the left, ie effectively riding on the right.

Thank you, Skanska - but there's no conflict between cars and cyclists here as there's no need to encroach on the MCL - it's only buses and HGVs that would have problems.

Horrible trench across the station-bound lane of Hills Road

Badly repaired and falling apart agin.

I've been trying to get this trench fixed since December 12 - a real hazard for cyclists turning left into Station Road.

This bus was blocking the cycle lane all the way down Hilsl Road - there's absolutely no need to filter left for Station Road so early.

At last the pavement is getting wider - for far too long the footway was only as wide as the left hand side of that green box. There's still a width restriction beyond in force because of ongoing works.

Pothole

The people-hostile barriers have gone! Now where do we lock our bikes when eating at the Saffron Brasserie?

New advance green light for cycles, a good improvement here.
