Despite there being the space to do something good, the i3 cycle route is signed along the narrow footway of New Street. The obstructive control cabinet at the pedestrian crossing makes it even more difficult to use. Not very innovative!

This button is a remote control that activates the pedestrian crossing which is offset from this cross-roads.

The yellow button just visible on the post on the side road on the right can activate the pedestrian crossing just beyond the junction. When that goes to red traffic is supposed to stop at the white line on the left.

When the pedestrian crossing beyond the crossroads here goes to red, traffic approaching the junction is requested to stop at this white line on the left.
