Actually cyclists have a choice whether to join the carriageway or stay on the shared-use path at the Park & Ride junction.
Signposted for pedestrians only in this direction - during construction of a massive junction for fast heavy motorised traffic into the Northwest Cambridge development.
It's now possible for cyclists leaving the West Cambridge site to join the new Madingley Rd cycleway - something that was not originally possible!
