Is this telling cyclists to take the lane? Or is it marking where the traffic-light sensors are buried?

Two things to note: 1. Cycle marking sharrow directing into a parked car! 2. The signs on the lighting column are facing the wrong way.

Some of the narrower paths in Southampton Common have these 'No Cycling' markings. I didn't notice one at the other end!

White lines on this shared use cycleway give some warning of the hard-to-see grey post ahead.
