A new branch has opened to the right, which will soon connect to the old railway line.

Looks like a tolerable bollard arrangement.

Just the last stretch including the junction still to be surfaced.

Looks like a tolerable bollard arrangement, but it may depend whether there is split blackmac/redmac surfacing here.

Not a great deal more to do.

Most of the new path is now surfaced.

An obvious place for an active travel route between High Ditch Road and the Marleigh development, potentially with a less challenging level difference than the one further east - so why isn't this one in the plans?

Shame about the broken branch, but certainly negotiable on foot or wheeling bike between bridleway spur and Tiptree Close.

Turn right for surprisingly good spur towards High Ditch Road (but with a slope down and evidence of a trodden-down fence when you get there)

Easily negotiated on foot and feasible when wheeling a bike (but not eg a cargobike) route up from High Ditch Road onto woodland path. Beware trodden-down fence.

Easily negotiated on foot, and feasible if not ideal when wheeling a bike (but not eg a cargobike) route down from woodland path to High Ditch Road. There is some evidence of a trodden-down fence so maybe not meant to be a public access?

Road crossing the Jubilee Cycleway within Marleigh development: the carriageway is reduced down to a single lane forming a traffic-calming feature for the road as well as a much reduced risk for people crossing. It's not a priority crossing … [more]
