Very poor condition track barely cyclable. Good for mountain bikes, nothing else.

This is not a cycleway. It is dangerous coming down with a heavy bike, even walking. And pushing one up? Whoever designated this a cycleway is an idiot.

The former railway south from Haltwhistle dead-ends at the Lambley viaduct, so cyclists on NCN route 68 should turn right on the road here and rejoin the former railway beyond the viaduct.

From here to the Alstom Arches viaduct the former railway to Haltwhistle is cut by the A69 bypass - it's not hard for cyclists to cross, although the Sustrans route 68 takes a roundabout route to avoid the crossing.
