Just after high tide, in dry weather, the Irt at this location is still a sizeable tidal river. The location of the "ford" on maps is in the centre of the photograph (the fence on the right hand bank gives an idea of scale).

Narrow and blind - the path under the railway bridge on Ditton Meadows. This is acceptable as a "temporary" fix, but a permanent solution is needed to give acceptable width and sight lines.

The footbridge at Baits Bite Lock is not cycle friendly. This is an important crossing point and should be easy to improve.

Under the main road bridge and the Allander Walkway encounters a flight of steps. No warning that this was going to happen.

Wheels or paddle? The path under Victoria Avenue bridge floods when the river is high.

Once past all the barriers and obstructions, the path becomes a decent run alongside the river, if a little windy!

There is a segregated cycleway on both sides of the bridge over the river Ems near the Dutch German border. Not quiet Dutch width, but useful. Follow #53546 to the start of the Küstenkanal cycleway.

Another destinationless Trans Pennine Trail sign, and below it a plate that reads "Limited Disabled Access (Steps) 700m ahead" but without any indication as to which direction this relates.
