The remains of a cycle route sticker on the post, and in the background the Chevin Cycles shop.

Sustrans sticker for NCN66 in Mirfield at the Calder & Hebble Navigation canal bridge.

NCN66 alongside A641 Manchester Road dual carriageway. The lamppost needn't be so in the way.

A sign for NCN66 pointing in a different direction to the blue Sustrans arrow sticker.

A Sustrans sticker leading the way to the National Cycle Network through the car park at Sandal & Agbrigg station.

A battered Sustrans sticker is all that is there to indicate which way to turn at the path junction at the top of the steps. Although OpenStreetMap shows NCN72 routed this way, checking the Sustrans website reveals that it is now routed via ... [more]

A narrow split pedestrian crossing for NCN routes 7 and 10 crossing Bridge Street. There is a sticker for NCN72 at this location, and upon checking the Sustrans website, it appears to have been relocated from the riverside path to here.

Southbound NCN routes 7 and 10, with stickers on the bollard.

Welcome to the National Cycle Network! NCN routes 7 and 10 on the path to the left have no directional signage, just stickers, while the routes ahead - 7, 10 and not mentioned leading to 72 - have just a sign facing those coming from the pa ... [more]

The Kelvin Walkway diversion via Contin Place. Still no dropped kerb at the start of the path to Wyndford Drive.

Diversion signed with blue (permanent) rather than yellow NCN stickers. And still no dropped kerb at the start of the path to Contin Place.

A vandalised sign for NCN756 in a non-standard format, and no dropped kerb to allow cyclists to leave the carriageway and join the path.

A pole minus its signs. Now just Sustrans stickers.

A canal towpath access path, unsigned, and comprising just a dirt path. Why is this not surfaced to the same standard as the main path?

The M8 cyclepath crosses the busy A752 road and A8 sliproad at grade. Why only a flyover for motorists? And no directions facing this way for NCN75 other than a Sustrans sticker.

Since my last visit here (see #88189) a route confirmation sign for NCN75 has appeared, but no directional signage.

Painted markings direct cyclists from Rutherglen onto the road to the right, but NCN756 actually goes left towards the Smart Bridge. Some dropped kerbs nearer or behind the camera would be useful here.

NCN1 forks right here, but only indicated by stickers on the lamppost. The path ahead leads towards the main railway station, so could be widened to match the NCN1 path.

Just a sticker on a lamppost for directions. Proper signage should be used, especially for on-road routes where cyclists may have to make a turn decision with an impatient car driver trying to get past.

An arrow sticker has been added since #21167

So I guess anyone seeing the state of the track ahead will be on the lookout for evidence that the cycle route does turn here, but still the sticker on the fencepost behind the mesh is not nearly adequate signage. The whole corner could be ... [more]

A route sign for the route to the right on a square post, but only stickers for the route straight ahead through the tunnel.

Another scheme where the designer has failed to take account of how vehicles will be parked, given that there is unlikely to ever be any parking enforcement around here. Putting in wide footways with big stone kerbs is a waste of money in t ... [more]

The Smart Bridge connects NCN75 with NCN756 on the opposite bank of the River Clyde. But the only signage is by means of Sustrans stickers.

A dropped kerb to access the St Andrew's Suspension Bridge from McNeil Street has now been installed.

Cycle parking stands at Saltburn station, and route stickers for NCN1.

An attempt has been made to beautify the entrance to the Kelvin Walkway at Kelvindale Road, but this has been spoilt not just by the barriers, but by signs pointing to "National Cycle Network Route 7". It is NCN756 as can be see on the stic ... [more]

So frustrated with "National Cycle Network". I give up. Lost 4 times in 45 min (I have the @sustrans map) now this. http://t.co/jjYw0P5QZe

Crofton Lane was surprisingly busy with motor traffic. Unfortunately I missed the turn for the seafront path and had to endure the traffic all the way along Salterns Road. Proper cycle signage may have helped rather than relying on Sustrans ... [more]

The Dani King cycleway alongside Hamble Lane.

The cycle route is routed over the railway footbridge, which has steps at each end (see #60267).

Directions sign at the end of the Erskine Bridge cycle track, with Clyde Coastal Path signs below.

The unmarked gap between the traffic islands must be for cyclists turning right along NCN1, against the signs at this junction, but marked by Sustrans volunteer stickers (see also #61837).

The junction of NCN 756 and NCN 75, signed only with Sustrans stickers.

Probably sensibly-worded sticker.

The Stobcross Bridge, across the Clydeside Expressway, but route signs don't include NCN route number, which is left to Sustrans stickers on an electrical cabinet.

The junction of NCN562 and NCN62

Not a particularly tidy cycle route. The route heads over to where the white car is parked, see #55861

Cycle route sticker on paths near canal

A sticker for NCN1 Location: Broughty Ferry, Dundee (Scotland, United Kingdom)

Sign for Netherton, with separate sticker for route number

An Advance Stop Line on the A59. NCN62 turns left here, but rejoins the A59 further along.

NCN62 takes a right turn here, but there is only a tiny sticker visible on the approach!

Lots of big signs, and just a tiny sticker to give directions on the cycle route!

A road closure that exempts cycles

Follow the stickers through the back streets

I would have thought that this NCN62 junction turn justified more than a sticker!

The shared-use footway approaching the bridge to Runcorn, with NCN562 and RCN82 stickers

NCN810 sticker explaining that it is the current end of route. http://modgov.sefton.gov.uk/moderngov/mgAi.aspx?id=25712 gives details of the proposed route across Formby.

Route sticker for NCN810

Barrier left open on canal path

Spot the direction sign (it's on the bench leg!)

"Share with Care" sticker on Trans Pennine Trail

Sustrans right turn sticker without route number, but it appears the route actually turned right onto path at previous corner where there was a left arrow on its own. Old route of NCN 75 in Coatbridge.

Minimalist route signage on Buchanan Street, Coatbridge, outside entrance to The Time Capsule leisure centre, just where cycling should be very visibly promoted!
