Mock-up of a idea to improve access to the footway cycle parking. Motor vehicles often park right up or overhang the buildout and this creates problems of access to our front door as these other photos show: #6501 and #106944. The ram ... [more]

We have just moved into a first floor flat (no garden) and would like to park our three bikes securely on our street; Oglander Road SE15 4EN. A bike hangar would be really helpful and useful to us. All bike hangars around us are full and we ... [more]

King Street cycle parking - it's build over a drain cover so there's space for bikes to park not against a stand.
Messy bike parking - the white bike looks like it has been used once and has been abandoned on these racks for about three weeks. For more info see: https://www.camcycle.org.uk/newsletters/145/nl145.pdf Page 22
When I think that a bike left for weeks at these racks has been abandoned then I turn it upside down. This was a Raleigh Chiltern, worth around £70: http://findthatbike.co.uk/search.php?searching=yes&s=chiltern
These racks are very heavily used and in their desperate need to park securely the bikes are being moved so that more bikes can be attached. The result looks very untidy and is not a great advertisement for more racks, which is what is real ... [more]
I applaud the Newnham Bakery taking over a parking space for cycle parking, but I wish they'd installed stands which actually support bikes - it's not that well used as a result.
It's really great to have new cycle parking in Romsey, but the workmanship on the installation is rather disappointing. The racks and bollards have been left covered with ugly dirt smears - which look to me like concrete dust. The groun ... [more]

Newly installed racks on Argyle Street. I think the camber combined with the kerb will work well together to keep bikes tidily parked.
Two apparently dumped bikes that have been there for a few days. Certainly not in safe rideable condition and which have been reported to the city council abandoned bike service.
Thoday Street racks. City rangers have helpfully cleared away an abandoned bike that was looking a mess. I've now asked them to remove the two old locks that are attached to the rack.
Poorly parked cycles combined with the camber of the buildout means these bikes have spread onto the footway. The look untidy and cause an obstruction.
The old cycle by-pass to the no entry is gone, but where are the Except Cycles plates? There's also quite a bit of unused footway space here that could accommodate street cycle parking.
Cycle parking continues to be heavily used during roofing works while there is scaffolding at our house.
Proof of need for cycle parking in this part of Thoday Street. See #95140. Added as an opportunity on Consult Cambs: http://consultcambs.uk.engagementhq.com/making-space-for-people/maps/comment-map-issues-and-opportunities#marker-136 ... [more]
Photo taken by Cambridgeshire Highways' contractor - we're waiting for the tarmac to cool off. 20mph campaigners happen to be in town at the moment when these racks were finished.
