The completed South West City Way cycleway on St Andrews Drive.

Approaching the junction with Haggs Road, at the end of the SWCW cycleway. The signals are now fully operational, but the cycle signal is not so easy to spot!

The new traffic signals, including signals for the SWCW cycleway, are now fully operational. This side includes a detector strip on the approach, for those leaving Pollok Country Park.

The St Andrews Drive cycleway is now rideable.

The St Andrews Drive cycleway is now rideable.

The St Andrews Drive cycleway is physically rideable, but awaits completion of traffic signal works.

Deep sigh. No, this is not acceptable. #SouthWestCityWay https://t.co/6KkLjsPSht

The badly placed lamppost referred to in #176480 causes users to end up crossing the tactile paving on a diagonal course, due to the poor planning of the cycleway alignment.

Having started with a clean slate, it is disappointing to see such a misalignment at the end of the West Street cycleway. The badly placed lamppost forces users to choose between going one side or the other, one of which means that they … [more]

The South West City Way cycleway is blocked by contractors equipment. No diversion has been signed, and going onto the road requires cyclists to disregard the mandatory turn signage at the junction to continue straight ahead on the South … [more]

The new cycle track connecting the Tradeston Bridge to West Street. The route to the right is only for going to Paisley Road now, since the diagonal crossing at the Kingston Street junction has been removed and mandatory turn signs point to … [more]

The replacement Clyde Place cycleway is finally open. Here it meets the South West City Way.

A new section of cycle track at West Street, showing junction with Clyde Place cycle track. See #169987 for view in opposite direction.

A Nextbike hire station has been added to Shields Road at the start of the Southwest City Way.

The "Recommended Route for Cycling" sign can probably be taken down now the protected cycle route has been built on the opposite side of the road and the on-road cycle lanes removed.

The toucan crossing gives access to the protected South West Cityway cycle route on Shields Road.

Parking on the footway, driving in the hatching. The rules of the road have broken down. Just beyond the van is a dropped kerb, before the traffic signals, that allows access to the footway in order to use the toucan crossing across to the … [more]

The Southwest City Way cycleway closed by roadworks on Scotland Street. It wasn't clear what cyclists were supposed to do.

Pavement parking in Scotland Street, opposite a car park. The line segregation cycleway sign is wrong too, since the cycleway is to the left of the footway.

If you haven't found the diversion by now, you won't see this sign.

The Tradeston Bridge is presently shut for work to be done.

Building work continues at Clyde Place. The cycle track approaching the Tradeston Bridge has been rebuilt. However, the position of the temporary railing directed me onto the new kerb which I wasn't expecting.

Drainage problem on the Shields Road cycle track.

The tactiles seen in #70961 have now been installed with the bars parallel to the cycleway, but there's nothing in the regulations to say a diagonal installation is acceptable.

Please dismount for the freshly laid 10 metres of straight tarmac that has recently been laid. What is this pointlessness? @GoBikeGlasgow https://t.co/q8wMpCpnXE

New SW Cycle Way flooded and covered in leaf mulch, treacherous. @GlasgowCC can you fix? @swcw24 @ExtraSouthside https://t.co/dazInggUCx

A cluttered start to the South-West City Way in Shields Road, plus an incorrect direction sign for Shields Road subway station pointing left (it's actually straight ahead).

Priority over residential side street on the two-way (despite the one-way sign) South-West City Way cycle route on West Street.

Apart from the incorrect word 'STOP' and the flooding, this is not bad. The signals even seem to change before too long as well (which is rather better than the Wallace Street toucan crossing). The South-West City Way cycle route switches … [more]

An unnecessary hazard of upstand on a diagonal kerb across the cycle route at Clyde Place.

The Wallace Street toucan crossing suffers from ponding.

The hitherto segregated cycleway turns into a shared-use footway, with an open gutter across the forced desire-line, and into a narrow blind corner at Wallace Street.

The green light is only for the pedestrian crossing. There is a toucan crossing across Wallace Street at the corner.

Parallel green lights on West Street, but the word 'STOP' and the hatching across the cycle track should not be there. No need to stop when there is a green light. Also note the handrail provided for clipped in pedal users.

Lighting repairs beneath the M74 motorway bridge.

New cycle parking outside West Street subway station.

Blocked cycleway outside garage.

Lots of footway parking and another car in the cycleway, outside car garage. Since there are 3 lanes on the road, why not create a parking bay on this side of the road, reducing traffic lanes to one each way? This problem isn't going to … [more]

Buffer strip on edge of shared-use footway outside Scotland Street School museum not actually wide enough to give full protection from opening car doors, and double yellow lines don't mean there will never be opening car doors there.

Here's one of the better junctions, with direct diagonal cycle crossing. Lights not working yet. http://t.co/Va6YcUT1mz

"We don't anticipate any problems" with illegal parking on the cycleway, @GlasgowCC said. Aww, isn't that sweet. http://t.co/TZKSAF4cLe

New guardrail already destroyed by a lawless speeding driver. http://t.co/VbI8GV6RoP

The cycleway and footway are vulnerable to rogue car parking in this area. The width of the junction opening doesn't help with this. But are those yellow painted markings indicating a rethink on the kerbs? UPDATE: #71206 shows new kerb … [more]
