The road up the west side of Thirlmere is virtually traffic-free and a great cycle route - it's shown as NCN route 6 on OpenCycleMap but not (yet) on the ground.
Thirlmere Dam Road - closed to motor vehicles but not cyclists and pedestrians. I'm not clear whether this is a Covid-19 measure, but it makes a delightful cycle route.
