[Image taken 17.7.22] Monks Cross Park and Ride, Monks Cross, Huntington/York. This e-cargo cycle was an exciting sight: the first I've seen here. But it highlights the issues. There’s lots of cycle parking and it’s the Sheffield variet ... [more]

[Image taken 22.6.21] Aldi, Kathryn Avenue, Monks Cross, Huntington, York. Good points: the racks are Sheffields; no lifting is required to get a cycle in or out; there's no problem with manoeuvring backwards; they are under cover; they are ... [more]

[Image taken 10.5.21] Sofology, Hurricane Way, York. Like the racks on the other side of the entrance these racks are too close (see: #167732). Other images of the racks on this side see also: #169112 and links.

[Image taken 23.4.21] Sofology, Hurricane Way, York. There are many good practice elements about the design and position of these racks. But at 74cm they are too close to each other as are the racks on the other side of the entrance: #16911 ... [more]

[Image taken 6.4.21] Asda, Layerthorpe, York. One Sheffield has been removed as a trial. There is now 115cm between the racks where the space between the remaining Sheffields is around 57cm. I think this is the reason two of the three cycle ... [more]

Sheffield stand Cycle parking at Poppies dentist - Hopefully Dentist will install Sheffield stand(s) with signs in at the front as well overlooked by the waiting room window. See #35129 from 2011 Ed: They look too close to the wall.

The cycle parking at Cardonald station has been positioned so close to the walls the end stand is basically unusable, while the others won't support the bikes very well when only one end of the bike is on the stand. But I'm not sure I'd lea ... [more]

Sheffield cycle stands to the side of Sysco Software in the Gasworks with capacity for 8 bicycles.

Badly-installed cycle parking - basically not usable

I don't know why this path wasn't made wider, placed further away from the fence, and asphalted. Too narrow to pass anyone without that person stepping aside.

Cycle parking at Holytown station. A bit close to the fence.

Extremely poorly sited cycle parking at Clydebank ASDA. A combination of shelter, bollard and a car being parked in the space in the foreground made my bike difficult to retrieve when I returned from the supermarket.

Cycle parking at Helensburgh Central station, some of which is installed far too close to a wall.

Bognor Regis - this shopping park has bike stands installed far too close to the buildings -its impossible to park properly and the low protruding ridge does not help!

Poor Sheffield stand placement at brand new harbourside apartments.

The cycle parking at Inverkip station is very close to the fence, limiting locking options.

The cycle parking at Cherry Trees was badly installed years ago - the stands are too close the wall. The current works are good opportunity to fix the problem, and ideally there would be more stands added.

Cycle parking stands at Crookston station, right next to fence

Strangely under-used cycle parking at St Andrew's church hall, opposite St Andrews House, Chesterton. Ed: One reason might be the very bad installation where the edge of the rack is up against the fence making it difficult to park.

Mind bogglingly incompetent installation by St Modwens

Cycle parking at the new community centre in Chesterton. Sadly it has been installed too close to the fence.
