Barrier free at last! This is the first time I've seen the horrendous barriers that were there see #4025 gone at last!

The direct route out of the Whitemoss Avenue underpass onto Whitemoss Road is blocked by car parking.

The path parallel to Whitemoss Avenue and then Churchill Avenue, approaching the underpass beneath Whitemoss Avenue.

A newly improved connection between Whitemoss Road and the Whitemoss Roundabout underpasses. But no direction signs for the cycle route nearby. The bin probably doesn't have to be located in the actual cycle track either.

A warning (not triangular) of low height at the Whitemoss Roundabout.

Route signs at the Whitemoss Roundabout for the cycle route to Brancumhall, but the Health Centre pointed to is not the closest health centre to this location, and so could be confusing.

A new 'No Entry' sign for the resurfaced cycle off-ramp from Churchill Avenue at the Murray Roundabout, but no longer any signs for local routes 2 and 3. So close to the town centre, but no wayfinding.

The path seen being widened in #107574, and now officially shared use, alongside Churchill Avenue in East Kilbride.

An ancient 'No Cycling' sign at an underpass at the Centre Roundabout.

What's wrong with this picture? Wondering why #cycling is forbidden in East Kilbride underpass which connects to a shared use path just 50 metres away. #activetravel #eastkilbride @SLLeisCulture @southlanarkshi2 https://t.co/e1VV8TItdI

Fair play to whoever in Warrington decided to build these underpasses when the dual carriageways were constructed - they're superb.

Hasty Lane: Once in the tunnel, however, the surface is much improved. This could be a valuable route if it were better taken care of.

Ramped access to the underpass under the M8, linking Barfillan Drive and Jura Street to Craigton Road. This is the nearest dropped kerb if coming from Jura Street. Lots of roadspace crying out for some reallocation to enable active travel.

The exit from the southbound pedestrian/cycle Clyde Tunnel. Although each tunnel is one-way for cycles, pedestrians can use either tunnel in either directions. How are pedestrians entering here expected to know about the possibility of a ... [more]

Roadworks at the canal bridge on Boquhanran Road, with space left for cycling and walking. I wonder if the road network would miss this road being shut to motor vehicles permanently.

The underpass beneath Queensway, connecting St Lawrence Park and Falkland Drive. Like many of the old underpasses in East Kilbride, there is a cycleway and separate footway.

The underpass under Rothesay Street leading to the shopping centre from The Murray Roundabout, and on the right a truncated cycle path removed when the Churchill Avenue road layout was altered to allow easier motoring.

Both East Kilbride cycle routes 2 and 3 turn right after the underpass, but definitely not NCN route 3.

Broken glass in the underpass at Whitemoss Roundabout. The only one of the town centre underpasses I found in such a state.

The underpass from Maxwellton Road under Kingsway ramps up to Maxwell Drive. The sign for NCN756 suggests cyclists are expected, yet there is no dropped kerb to join the carriageway at the end of the ramp. However, there is a dropped ker ... [more]

The Maxwellton Road underpass beneath Kingsway is unlit during daytime, apart from the skylight in the central reservation. A far cry from the neat conservation area on Maxwellton Road.

The underpass beneath Kingsway at the end of Maxwellton Road has ramps and is possible to cycle, but has lots of sharp corners. The dropped kerb is also a bit of a bump.

The older path connects Highfield Place and The Gateway, while the newer path connects across to NCN756 on the railway path. No signage, but as NCN756 also joins The Gateway, it can be reached by either route for those heading north.

One of East Kilbride's old cycleway and footway combinations, through the underpass connecting Highfield Place and The Gateway.

An underpass at the Birniehill Roundabout.

The view out of the sliproad underpass towards a roundabout and development site. Room for upgrading.

A footway next to the High Common Road/Strathaven Road sliproad. If this was upgraded to a cycleway, there's room to move the path away from the road to give better sightlines into the underpass.

East Kilbride cycle routes 2 and 3 come out of the underpass and split to proceed in opposite directions. So I'd expect better signage than this!

East Kilbride cycle route 2 at the High Commons Road underpass.

Underpass beneath St Leonards Road. Unlit during the day.

Brancumhall Road looking towards St Leonards Road, and to the right a path to an underpass.

A sign for the Sports Centre, but what about the cycle route all the way to Brancumhall?

A path being widened at Whitemoss Roundabout.

I'm hoping this newly marked cycle path alongside Whitemoss Avenue will be widened once the work behind the hoardings has been finished.

The Centre Roundabout doesn't have any cycle facilities (unlike the other town centre roundabouts) but does have a ramp to bypass the steps at the town centre side.

The only underpass I saw in East Kilbride with a height restriction sign. Leads to the shopping centre (with some cycle parking at #107433).

A choice of ramps or steps to get to the Queensway underpass to the shopping centre beyond.

Pedestrian signage at the Righead Roundabout, and over next to the underpass, an outbound sign for East Kilbride's cycle route 1.

The path to the underpasses at the Righead Roundabout. The path ahead joins with Queensway (A726). No sign for East Kilbride's cycle route 1 which turns right into the underpass.

The Hallglen cycle path crosses the spinal path.

The start of around 300 metres of cycle path to Hallglen Primary School from Nevis Place. It crosses the spinal path which doesn't appear to be regarded as a path for cycling.

The underpass beneath New Hallglen Road on the spinal path through Hallglen could do with some TLC.

The Glenburn Road underpass, near Beauly Court, could do with a bit of tidying up.

The step-free access continues, but only through the underpass. Other than that, the only other option is onto the carriageway at Beauly Court.

A single bollard in an already narrow path, approached in all directions by paths. Is this really necessary? No directions on the signpost for the route to the right, which also happens to be the HArTT cycle route.

'End of Cycle Route'? The HArTT cycle route turns left here, and there is a link to Grangemouth through the underpass on the right. See #102937 for a close-up of the directions sign.

The HArTT cycle route goes through the underpass beneath the A9 at Beancross.
