The HArTT cycle route goes down this steep slope to the Union Canal (see #101156). A new sensibly graded ramp has been built to the right (see #101153).
Looking inside the Union Canal's Falkirk Tunnel. A sign back at #101156 advises dismounting. I wouldn't disagree. This end of the tunnel is quite wet, so can be slippery.

Lots of cycle stands at the Falkirk Wheel Visitors' Centre, but they are spaced far too closely together, making access needlessly difficult. Plenty of room for a more sensible spacing without loss of stands.
The Union Canal has quite a narrow towpath, requiring users to co-operate to pass each other, which disrupts things like being sociable. Imagine if car users had to travel single file!
The sightlines under the bridges are so poor that speed humps and a chicane barrier have been provided on the already narrow Union Canal towpath.
The path from Cultins Road joins the Union Canal towpath, which is lit with LED catseyes at this point. No identification of the location is offered to canal users.
The towpath over the Almond Aqueduct is narrow and cobbled, and cyclists are advised to dismount (and here most do)
