The new cycleway along St Rollox Drive leads onto this footway which has not been upgraded. It is obstructed ahead by utilities work and the only way onto the road is across the grass. There's also a 'No Cycling' sign on the back of the ... [more]

Boquhanran Road shut for roadworks at the canal bridge, but no-one seems to have seen the memo about signing the cycle access still being open.

Unfinished trenching work at the Kelpies Marina.

Me: hooray I can take a bus to work and not worry about road layouts or roadworks. Also me: I must photograph and tweet this it’s awful. (Dartmouth Rd by Sydenham School). https://t.co/7LlzKp4eOg

As usual in this car-obsessed society, Road Closed means closed to motor vehicles - cyclists and pedestrians can get past this burst water main without much problem.

I'm not sure what the barriers here are meant to achieve, or why they are blocking the flagship cycleway on Waterloo Street.

Toucan Crossing under construction across A4130 near Backhill Tunnel Location: , Milton (England, United Kingdom)

Welcome to the Brunel Mile. The way @BristolCouncil treats pedestrians and cyclists is beyond contempt. @mthrel you should be ashamed. https://t.co/ma8ymVoMBn

You can, no doubt, spot the other reason this sign has been used incorrectly.

The new zebra and cycle parallel crossing on Govan Road has still not been completed! Note the parking layby is narrower than the vehicle parked in it.

The new zebra and cycle parallel crossing on Govan Road still hasn't been completed. Not even the shared footway surface has been finished!

Bus lane cameras. Will there be cycle lane cameras? A stepped two-way cycle track is being built along part of Govan Road, but the footway has been reduced to a minimal width, resulting in people walking on the cycle track. An extra metr ... [more]

Yet more seemingly abandoned Georgian roadworks without any barriers or warnings.

Roadworks are a mess in Georgia, and they're not good at making good afterwards either.

Road works to build bad new scheme for Addenbrooke's roundabout can't be bothered to provide safe crossings for people walking.

This ramp forms part of NCN75 and has been closed for a few weeks. See #88472.

This has apparently been left like this for several weeks! No warning signs for anyone approaching from the riverside.

Very poor restoration of the road surface after utilities work.

Poor quality road reinstatement

Horrible bodged road repair

Tenison Road is closed for traffic-calming works - predictably, the signs are aimed exclusively at drivers and make no allowance for cyclists having access to most of it most of the time.

Already the new crossing surfacing is being eaten into by trenching works.

A newly installed painted cycle lane on Corporation Street, which has then been made narrower. More details of the cycle infrastructure along this street can be found at http://madcyclelanesofmanchester.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/corporation ... [more]

The main road past Baile Felix, Romania, has apparently been under repair for the last three years.

The county council's contractors have left a hole in the cycle track where a lamp post has been removed - how long till it gets filled in?

The classic Romanian approach to roadworks - do it all at once (but very slowly) rather than doing half and half and allowing reasonable access.

The classic Romanian approach to roadworks - do the whole street at once, and somehow allow residents' cars in and out as well. Not a fast process.

Lots of unfinished roadworks in Sighet - quite possibly the result of a corrupt deal that went wrong - or pure incompetence.

Taking the easy option. Who makes these signs anyway? What's wrong with 'Drivers give space to cyclists' ? http://t.co/GfKiJvcQRD

The street was closed for one day while a trench was dug to provide services for a newly built studio in the rear of a garden.

@magnatom @carsickglasgow thanks road guys, honestly, there's bags of room. http://t.co/fYPxtO450y

Roadworks in Bouddha - no signs, no diversions, no sign of anything going on, and a hotel that can't be reached except by walking several hundred metres up a back alley.

Roadworks in Boudha - no signs, no diversions, no sign of anything going on, and a hotel that can't be reached except by walking several hundred metres up a back alley.

This is what happens when you think that pedestrianisation just means closing off one end of the street and a fancy surface without doing anything to control access or parking.

Roadworks in Tbilisi - cars are still allowed to park and so the whole process takes forever.

This junction is set to have four sets of staggered toucan crossings - while motorists will get double exit lanes - all this from a development which is supposed to promote walking and cycling and cut motor traffic journeys. Hrmph!

Signposted for pedestrians only in this direction - during construction of a massive junction for fast heavy motorised traffic into the Northwest Cambridge development.

A narrow staggered crossing with plastic bollards that provide absolutely no protection whatsoever from the 40mph traffic through here.

Lots of roadworks make Madingley Road an even more unpleasant experience than usual. Despite all the cones and fences the 40mph limit is retained.

Temporary (but for how long?) access to the Shelford path at Addenbrookes. To the other side of the small line of cones is a live road. Utterly, abjectly, awful. This is bad for cyclists. Terrible for those with long bikes or trailers ... [more]

Footpath closed for some works seemingly to the fence, but looks like the path itself is being widened here and resurfaced.

Flyover under construction for access to Ottawa Train Station - but the cycle routes need improving too!

One lane still closed on Barton Road an hour and a quarter after it was supposed to have been reopened.

Queueing back to the Trumpington Road because the (unnecessary) roadworks which are meant to be lifted at 15.30 daily were still in place an hour and a quarter later.

Recently carried out but shoddily done road resurfacing in Canterbury Street!

The cycleway is completely obstructed by these roadworks signs.

Here is the same problem on the other side of the road. It's been like this for days. What precisely is a cyclist or a driver supposed to do? I think it means: drivers: you are allowed to run down or otherwise intimidate cyclists here ... [more]

Cycle lane supposedly suspended (have they really got a TRO?) northbound due to roadworks on the southbound side of Hills Road.

Inappropriate signage. The next sign says 'Cycle Lane Closed'. There isn't even a cycle lane.

Inappropriate signage. This is very disappointing given the excellent signage that was on the roadworks for Gilbert Road a couple of weeks ago.

A 'Cyclists Dismount Here' sign has been provided at the start of a diversion over to the adjacent road around the Bell's Bridge refurbishment worksite

Incredible that these roadworks haven't been scheduled to be the same time as the resurfacing two weeks later.

I'm amazed the county council hasn't yet made the contractors remove this appalling sign - the footway to the left is closed so are cyclists meant to walk through in front of the cars? or cross to the far footway? Thankfully, cyclists are j ... [more]

Does a quick spurt of the blackstuff really count as a repair of this awful cycle lane?

Left turn only out of Glisson Road - the only way for cyclists to reach the northbound cycle lane is to go south to the pedestrian crossing and do a U-turn there.

This is shared-use - so is it closed to cyclists too?

The No Left Turn sign should have an Except Cycles plate added - it's great that a northbound cycle lane has been provided while northbound cars have to go a long way around!

Cyclists are supposed to use the pedestrian crossing 30 metres to the right and return to the same choke point - so that pedestrians can use the cycle crossing? Hardly logical.

The familiar false dichotomy - cars or pedestrians - ignoring the fact that this is above all a cycle route.

Roadworks on East Road have necessitated shifting this crossing temporarily to the left by about 20 metres. But that is so off the beaten track that it is universally ignored.

Dreadful gas roadworks blocking the cycle path and putting both cyclists and pedestrians in danger

Roadworks on Pembroke Street encourage (or in some cases force) vehicles into the contraflow cycle lane.

And as usual, the signs are in the cycle lane; the camber of the pavement does provide some reason as to why this has happened ...but a reason isn't an excuse and it would be nice if these things didn't happen. Location approximate.

Yet again - the awful Seven Stations Route is blocked by works, with cyclists told to dismount and walk around.

The text on the red sign reads "cycle lane closed […] mopeds and cyclists dismount". If we ignore the fact that mopeds are prohibited from using cycle lanes anyway and therefore shouldn't be mentioned on this sign at all, this sign sends ... [more]
