Slow progress on the North Canal Bank Street cycle track. The surface is now in on the cycle track side, but not the pedestrian side. The tactile paving is still the incorrect tyre-grabbing hazard type. This is the end of the cycle track.

Roadworks continue on Ferry Road. The surface on the footway is still incomplete. Updated at #175001 and #175002.

The shared footway on Bunhouse Road has been rebuilt, but has not had its dividing line reinstated. The zebra crossing has a random section of tactile paving nearby with no obvious purpose.

The toucan crossing across Argyle Street has been replaced by a pedestrian crossing and a separate cycle crossing. However, the approach is a bit cramped behind a bit of wall. See also #173170.

A new canal towpath access point has been created at the Centre81 community centre in Whitecrook. UPDATE: Now open.

The correct Cycleway tactile slabs have arrived in North Canal Bank Street and await fitting in place of the incorrect corduroy Hazard tactiles.

The contraflow cycle lane has been kept open through the roadworks - the awful speed humps on Bateman Street are finally being replaced.

The three collapsing speed humps at the eastern end of Bateman Street have been removed - with luck, something better might appear soon.

Building work continues at Clyde Place. The cycle track approaching the Tradeston Bridge has been rebuilt. However, the position of the temporary railing directed me onto the new kerb which I wasn't expecting.

If you're cycling on the shared-use footway, there's a temporary ramp and diversion. If you're using the on-road cycle lane, you're a bit stuffed.

There's a largely redundant dual-carriageway, but instead of taking a lane to provide the missing link cycleway between Swavesey and Fenstanton, they're spending much more time and money on a new alignment in the fields.

Work progressing on the new bridge across the Forth & Clyde Canal at Stockingfield Junction.

Markings for improvements (?) on both footways of Madingley Road (and temporary traffic lights)

North Canal Bank Street is closed for extensive rebuilding. Pedestrian access is maintained to the left (see #165586).

Histon Road is now closed southbound - most (but not all) of the No Entry signs have Except Cycle signs in place.

Histon Road is now closed southbound, except for cycles (although there is actually access for construction vehicles to Darwin Green to the right) - unfortunately there's no dropped kerb to reach it.

The southern end of the Garscube Road cycle track still hasn't been completed, but is at least now rideable. Top surface is all that is required. Further north, the path is complete up until Sawmillfield Street, with work in progress at the ... [more]

[Image taken 18.2.21] York, Wigginton Road. Too many signs. Messages get lost. The Do not overtake cyclists sign is still completely obscured at this point and therefore has no value. See also: #164311, #164310, #164313, #164314, #164315

[Image taken 18.2.21] York, Wigginton Road. Again, the Do not overtake cyclists sign would seem to have limited use being placed among a line of other signs, and therefore obscured. See also: #164311, #164310, #164312, #164313, #164315
