Single file under the bridge

Amazingly this is a signed cycle route between a sizeable suburb and a local employment area. Here it is not safe to ride and too narrow to even push a bike alongside. Too narrow even for the painted man symbol. To top it all off the "cycle route" takes an unsigned, blind, right-angled turn just ahead.

After treating themselves to almost a whole 100m of unhindered riding down the narrow path, cyclists are again instructed to dismount for the remainder of its length.

Cyclists are now allowed back on their bikes but the width of the cyclepath is inadequate.

After a full 200m of riding, cyclists are instructed to dismount to go round the blind bend and under the bridge.

At this point the cycleway is fine

Old Tram Road (part of NCN Route 55). Is well paved and generally enjoyable cycle route. Unfortunately the tree cover can leave the path covered with leaf mulch in the autumn/winter
