This is a very nice cycleway through the country, with a good surface and no real barriers.

Unclear if this is a shared footway, but it's still useful.

The cycle route ends at the end of the Inchinnan Road Bascule Bridge, on the edge of Renfrew. Walk into the town centre, anyone?

The shared footway alongside the A8 approaches the bridges across the Black Cart, and cyclists are directed to cross at the toucan crossing to use the new cycle bridge.

A green strip has been provided on the road, with a cycle symbol, but its meaning is unclear. A dropped kerb has been provided for any cyclists leaving the carriageway to use the crossing.

The shared footway goes right past the parking area and across the farm access road.

Parking like this blocks our door.

Taking the dog for a ride, and an example of decent space when overtaking, but the next car was a close pass.

Remove the loading bay here and widen cycle lane/pavement. The loading bay is not used for loading (there's always a truck parked there) and the pavement/cycleway is far too narrow, especially with signs on the pavement from the Shakespeare.

Widen the pavement and move the cycle lane to the right (away from the building). This will allow a continuous path for pedestrians to next to the building to keep walking without crossing the cycle lane, reducing conflict

Too much priority is given to cars here. Add a bus/bike filter to Anchor Road here to make it easier to cross this bit of road. Change Canons Road from two lanes of northbound traffic to have traffic in both directions

Barriers here are impossible to ride a bike through without getting off - should be removed

Cars often park in front of the cycle/footway here, blocking access. Double yellow lines are needed

The bridge is old and has many steps. I'd love to see it replaced with an accessible step-free (ramped) bridge to allow access by bikes, wheelchairs and pushchairs

"A teenage boy who was riding an electric bike has died after a collision with an ambulance in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the child was being followed by traffic officers, before their path was blocked by bollards.

The 15-year-old boy then cycled on and was subsequently involved in the crash on Thursday afternoon.

The incident had been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) which oversees police conduct.

At about 14:00 BST, the boy was followed by traffic officers along Fitzwarren Street and onto Lower Seedley Road, where bollards blocked the police vehicle's way.

A short time later he collided with the ambulance in Langworthy Road, police said.

The boy was taken to hospital but later died, the IOPC said. "

More incorrect corduroy 'hazard' tactile paving on the A8 cycleway at Inchinnan. This should be of the 'cycleway' type in the foreground, and of the red pedestrian crossing type (in the correct formation) at the toucan crossing (which is meant to have two call buttons at each side).

Cycle parking stands at Inchinnan, alongside a car parking layby just out of shot to the right. No need to park cars in bus stop laybys.

The path to Freeland Drive is rather narrow, and has steps at the far end, and is not suitable for cycling.

The shared footway continues alongside the A8, away from the Red Smiddy Roundabout.

The A8 shared footway crosses the A726 at the Red Smiddy Roundabout. Nothing more than a dropped kerb crossing has been provided.

No footways, shared or otherwise, are provided along this section of the A726.

The shared footway alongside the A8 between Bishopton and Renfrew, passing a farm. This had quite a bit of grit on the footway and could do with a sweep.

A cycle slip for leaving the carriageway and joining the shared footway. An excellent example of how to provide for this manoeuver, but somewhat redundant in this case when there has been a shared footway along the other side of the road since the edge of Renfrew.

The shared footway alongside the A8 heading away from the new M8 junction. The shared footway on the opposite side comes to an end and a dropped kerb crossing is provided. There is also a slip for joining that shared footway from the carriageway. The shared footway on this side continues right up to the edge of Renfrew.

I don't know what the temporary sign and barrier on the shared footway on this side were there for. The footway on the other side had been shut past the motorway junction.

This section of the A8 between Bishopton and Renfrew has shared footways on both sides, around and between the various roundabouts associated with Dargavel, which, if nothing else, means a choice of crossing locations if traffic happens to be busy arriving at the first.

The dual provision of Barrangary Road ends at the Barrangary Roundabout, with the on-road cycle lane feeding into the shared footway.
