The Wunderfietspad cycleway links Groningen, the beautiful river Ems cycleway with Oldenburg and Bremen on the popular Weser cycleway. Together with the corresponding section of EuroVelo 12 (the North Sea Cycle Route) it creates an attractive round route in Northern Germany.

This is exactly 1km from the entrance to the railway station, meaning that this link puts the residents of the Havekant development in walking distance of Oldenburg "Hauptbahnhof".

This publicly funded development started in the 1980s, but was a commercial failure. Siemens has built only one 30.5 km (18.95 mi) real world track to Shanghai Pudong Airport - too short for train going travelling at 420 km/h.

165649Photo #165649The Auguststraße in Oldenburg is narrow. The speed limit is 20 mph and cycling on the pavement permitted, due to the many schools in the area.
