Delivery vehicle waiting to enter the Grand Arcade via St Tibbs Row. The vehicle was there, obstructing the mandatory cycle lane, for a significant time rather than being directed around the block

This delivery vehicle waiting to enter the Grand Arcade site waited at the end of Downing Place forcing other vehicles to exit the T junction on the wrong side of the road (oh and on the pavement); again no marshalls in site

A knock-on effect of delivery vehicles waiting to enter the Grand Arcade is that other traffic then drives along the mandatory contraflow cycle lane. Proper marshalling of traffic, both delivery vehicles and their consequences, is needed to ensure the safety of cyclists

A truck delivering to the Grand Arcade development via St Tibbs Row. The vehicle drove along the contraflow cycle lane and up onto the pavement on the south side of Downing Street. Unbelievably there were no traffic marshals in either direction, as promised by the site co-ordinators, to control and protect pedestrian/cycle traffic. Cyclists/pedestrians are particularly vulnerable as they can enter a driver's blindspot. Please take care along here until hopefully adequate marshalling or traffic lights are place.

The sharp turn after crossing Gonville Place toucan crossing. As shown, many cyclists cannot make the sharp turn without straying onto the opposite side of the 2-way cycle path. This is definitely worse than the old crossing as 1. the changes removed the division of the cycle path on the bend 2. introduced a new post (not shown, to the left) which made the bend even sharper and 3. Now makes cyclists turn on the concrete slabs with patterns designed for the visually impaired which have reduced friction compared to a normal tarmac surface.

The new toucan crossing over Gonville Place: many would say a degrade of an important cycle facility compared to the former crossing where cyclists and pedestrians were segregated. Note also the excessive bollards/posts added to the left
